Maybe They're Sturdier Because They Play Lots Of Games

Every so often I come across an article where I'm like, "This is interesting, but I have no idea what to do with it." For example, according to Smithsonian Magazine, scientists may have figured out why some brains don't decay. (Picture-wise, consider this your "dried-brain trigger warning" before clicking the link . . . unless they're walnuts, maybe?)

The truth is kind of neat, but – honestly – the idea of "dried brains" is way more fascinating than the reality. Maybe this could be a plot point for a Halloween-themed GURPS Dungeon Fantasy game? Perhaps a variant for a multi-game session of Zombie Dice where the "winner" of a game can defer declaring victory to preserve brains for future games, at an exchange of (say) 3-to-1 . . . but they risk losing that game entirely if someone catches up? I'm spitballing here, but the idea of "non-decaying brains" is too cool to pass up. If you have any ideas, please feel free to drop me a line or swing by the forums.
