I Can Haz Medal?

I was oddly moved by historian John Bull's Bluesky thread about Simon – the only cat to receive the Dickin Medal. That's a medal bestowed by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals, a British veterinary charity, and it's the highest honor British critters can receive. (You shouldn't even need a Bluesky login to click that.)

Even if you're not a cat person, Simon's story might win you over, as he did sailors during his life. And when you're done, Wikipedia's article about other Dickin Medal honorees could prove similarly inspirational . . . especially for tabletop gamers who (like me) think having a medal ceremony for a service animal is an amazing moment.
