20 Years Of Munchkin Madness

This month marks a special milestone for me – I played Munchkin for the first time 20 years ago!

 A friend was away at college and came home with the original core set. Having only played things like Monopoly and Scrabble, I was a bit hesitant. We got it to the table one Saturday night and played it multiple times.

 

I was hooked, and it was an instant favorite!

 

A few of us started collecting the sets that were already out and would come out in the years that followed, including Munchkin Impossible, Star Munchkin, and Munchkin Cthulhu. Every weekend, we'd mix multiple sets together and play epic sessions – starting around noon and ending sometime in the wee hours of the morning . . .  with a run to Taco Bell to refuel each time. 

 

It was my intro to gaming and I became passionate about it, so when I moved across the country, the first thing I did was find a gaming group. 

 

Fast forward 17 years to 2023 – I had the chance to apply at SJ Games and jumped at it immediately. It still baffles me every day that I'm fortunate enough to work for the company that makes my all-time favorite game. Not a day goes by that I'm not incredibly grateful.
