BoardGameGeek Con 2025
Just before Thanksgiving we loaded up the car and took a road trip up to BoardGameGeek Con in Dallas to show off some of this year's new games. (Stopping in West on the way for some kolaches, of course).
If you've never been to BoardGameGeek Con, it has many of the things you expect from a board game convention: events, tournaments, panels, and a dealer's room, but the biggest feature for this show is the huge amount of open-play tables and the library of over 8,000 board games that you can check out and play.
By day, we showed off Purrfect Potions and a handful of other games to people coming through the dealer's hall. Thanks to everyone that came by for a demo, or just to chat about games!
After hours, we got to look around and see what people were playing, learn some new games, and hang out with all the gamers. Just talking with people about their favorite new release from Essen, or the best game they'd tried so far over the weekend, or the one game that they brought that they never get a chance to play at home is a good time. Several people told us to try out Moon Colony Bloodbath, but we could never catch it in the library. We spent some time learning Faiyum and Above and Below: Haunted, among others, and I even got to playtest a friend's game that is in development.
Overall it was a great show. We got to meet a lot of fans, and we got to pack in a lot of gameplay over just a few days.
