If At First You Don't Succeed . . . Quick-Load

I absolutely love board games, but I also have an appreciation for video and computer games. That's how I discovered an article from Rock Paper Shotgun about designing computer RPGs so that you're okay with failing, rather than reloading a game and playing through a difficult section again if you don't emerge triumphant from an encounter.

I'm not sure how on board I am with the theory; I am an admitted savescum enthusiast. Nonetheless, it gave me a lot to think about, especially with figuring out how to change failure from frustrating to fun.
