Swim In Peace, Tortellini
Following in the footsteps of a story from October about how a black neon tetra had committed credit card fraud, I share the bittersweet news of another amazing fish . . .
The Escapist reports news of the death of Tortellini, a goldfish who had achieved some degree of boss-killing success in the notoriously difficult video game Elden Rings.
Until his obituary, I was unaware of Tortellini's accomplishments. However, I was amused and uplifted to follow his story on PointCrow's YouTube video "I Taught My Goldfish to Play Elden Ring." It details how the aquarium that Totellini swam in had sensors to trigger depending on where in the tank he was, translating his swimming into video-game inputs. This was apparently enough to overcome several notorious bosses in Elden Ring, with more accumen than I will ever achieve.
Tortellini was 3.
