Hey, Vote Soon-Ish . . . If You Haven't Already?

Not to show my age but, in the old days, it was real easy to write a "you should go out and vote!"-type post or news item, because nearly everyone voted on the same day: Election Day (also known as the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November here in the eagle-eating-apple-pie United States).

But if we wait until the beginning of November to run this post, a mathematically impossible 523% of you all would vote have already voted, thanks to early voting, mail-in voting, the strange water-dwelling naiad who compels you to whisper your vote in her ear . . . It's all gotten so complicated.

So, Election Day here in the States is Tuesday, November 3 this year. And this is our "we're trying to do our civic duty"-type post to encourage you to vote. Nonetheless, because of the above, the odds are quite good that you've already voted – to all of those people, consider this post a thank-you for your efforts.

Still, if you haven't voted and you're able, there's no time like now. Or next week. Or a week ago. Or whenever the naiad's available.

As they say, if voting didn't do any good, there wouldn't be so many folks out there trying to keep you from doing so . . .
