New Roles For Sabrina Gonzalez And Allison Page

Sabrina Gonzalez Headshot At Tavern

Steve Jackson, founder and President of Steve Jackson Games, is stepping down as CEO to focus on game design and development. Long-time staff member Sabrina Gonzalez has become the CEO of SJ Games.

Long-time SJ Games staff member Sabrina Gonzalez has become our new Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Editor Allison Page is now our Chief Operating Officer.

Apart from a brief hiatus, Sabrina has been with SJ Games since 2013. She has served in several roles, including Production Artist and Production Manager, among others, and has been a member of our Board of Directors since 2021. During her short time away, Sabrina worked in game manufacturing, which gave her a broader view of that world and its possibilities. Her time at SJ Games and more than a decade of industry experience allowed her to share her in-depth knowledge when consulting with clients.

Of her goals for the company, Sabrina said, "As a general goal, I'd like us to continue to grow. We weathered the pandemic and pivoted project plans to address continually changing tariffs. The goal is always to make great games that people love. I want to continue developing new titles for future generations of gamers and also support (and sometimes update) the classics that our fans continue to request."

Sabrina is a fan of party and dice games, and her all-time favorite is dominoes, which always goes with her on her travels. She has years of wonderful memories here, but one in particular stands out. "One of my first assignments was designing everything for the Munchkin Tavern, from the logo to the signage and menus used inside. In the photo, the 2013 Tavern logo is printed on a T-shirt that many who attended the Tavern party signed that year. Seeing the signatures makes me reminisce about the happy times shared with some of the people who were there but are no longer with us. We still think of and miss you greatly, Andrew Hackard." In her free time, Sabrina is a musician who plays guitar, piano, and ukulele, among others, and she loves live music.

Allison Page joined our team in 2023 as Managing Editor, and her previous work included being the Executive Artistic Director of Killing My Lobster in San Francisco, and she worked as a Narrative Designer in video games, which was her introduction to the gaming industry. "I'm most excited to support Sabrina in her new role as CEO! We've always worked really well together and want the same things for SJ Games. I'm a problem solver, and I'm passionate about setting clear expectations. I'm excited to untangle whatever comes my way and ensure the team knows how to move forward and has what they need," Allison said about her new role.

Her favorite games are party games, as she considers herself extremely competitive and will take any and all opportunities to shout and laugh. Allison has been a comedy writer and playwright for over a decade and dedicates a great deal of time to writing, reading people's work in her writing group, and hanging out with other writers complaining about writing, which is a crucial component of the craft.

Head over to the forums and help us congratulate both Sabrina and Allison on their new roles and their future at SJ Games!
