Downsizing Munchkin
Does anyone remember that icy blast that hit the country back in late January? I sure do. We were fortunate enough to keep power through the whole thing, unlike the last ice storm that size that came through. The only problem was a rambunctious 4-year-old who couldn't go out (we're not prepared for such cold weather here, as every Texan will tell you) and was constantly in need of new activities to stay occupied.
After running through all the standbys, my wife remembered a pack of blank Shrinky Dink paper she'd bought literally 2 decades ago. My son loved them, and we quickly started to think of what else we could do with them. What do you suppose a Steve Jackson Games graphic artist will end up coloring on blank Shrinky Dinks?
Well, it was supposed to be the kid who was coloring, but by the time we'd done a couple of batches and I had the idea to print out some of the new Munchkin Second Edition art on the paper, he had gotten tired of the colored pencil tips snapping off. And I can't really blame him. They were driving me crazy, too. Instead, he directed these, picking the colors mommy and daddy were supposed to use.
As a bonus, they came out just the right size to go on the standie bases! They're not quite wide enough, but you can wedge a tiny strip of paper in there to keep them from wobbling. Now we can use them in his first game of Munchkin.
